Prospect

Prospect is a clinical trial data capture system designed to support web-based data input for any number of studies through a central location. The software is being developed through an on-going collaborative project between epiGenesys and the Clinical Trials Research Unit at The University of Sheffield, which began in June 2009. It is the preferred data capture system for all new studies managed by the CTRU and currently manages five studies, with several more due to be added throughout 2010.

Prospect provides data collection screens organised into forms, which mirror the paper case report forms being completed the by the study participants, and incorporates a validation system which attempts to keep out bad data without making the data entry staff jump through hoops.

A comprehensive privilege management system enables highly customisable access control on a per user basis, including separation personal and sensitive data from non-identifiable clinical information being collected from the study. To comply with clinical trial data auditing guidelines, Prospect maintains a user activity log and a data audit log, and full history versioning of all online case report forms.
